Privacy Policy — Adhan
This document describes what the Adhan app does and does not do with data. The policy reflects the app as actually implemented.
1. Information We Use
Adhan (SALATY) uses only the information needed to provide prayer-related features, such as your selected city, location preference, and notification settings. The app does not require you to create an account.
2. Location Information
When you choose automatic location detection, the app accesses your device location to calculate prayer times and to display the Qibla compass. If you manually select a city, the app does not need to obtain your current device location for that selection. The device orientation sensor (gyroscope/compass) is used solely for the Qibla compass display; sensor data is not sent to any server.
3. OpenStreetMap and Nominatim
To determine your city and country from your location, the app sends the latitude and longitude obtained from your device to Nominatim, a reverse-geocoding service provided by OpenStreetMap. When you search for a city or place, your search text is sent to Nominatim to return matching results. The app does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account information, so none of that is sent to this service.
4. How Location Is Used
Location and selected-city information are used to display your city and to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction. The app does not use this information for advertising or to create a user profile.
5. Notifications and Exact Alarms
The app may send local notifications for prayer times, the Adhan call, and dhikr reminders according to your device permission and app settings. These notifications are generated on your device using WorkManager for reliable background scheduling. No notification data is transmitted outside your device.
6. Adhan Audio Playback
Adhan audio is played locally from files bundled with the app. No audio data is streamed to or from an external server, and no listening habits are recorded.
7. Home-Screen Widgets
If you enable home-screen prayer-time widgets, the widgets read your locally stored settings to display the next prayer time. No data is transmitted to external servers.
8. Local Storage
The app stores your selected settings — including language, location preferences, calculation method, and clock style — on your device using SharedPreferences. These preferences are not sent to any external server.
9. Data Sharing
Adhan does not sell personal information or share it with third parties for commercial purposes. Location coordinates and place-search text are shared with OpenStreetMap/Nominatim only when needed for the location and city-search features described above. The app contains no advertising networks, tracking analytics, or crash-reporting services.
10. Automatic Update Checking
The app checks for updates via the Google Play In-App Update API. This communicates directly with Google's servers under Google's privacy policy. Alisoplay does not collect any separate data from this process.
11. Children's Privacy
Adhan does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
12. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated when the app changes. The latest version will always be available on this page and inside the app under Settings.
